Need to know what type of spider this is. It was found in a laundry room in south west florida.

Hard to tell, but just the posture is enough to make me say Heteropoda venatoria, a largish Huntsman spider. Despite their size (they even startle me sometimes), they are harmless. They are free-range hunters (meaning they use no web to catch prey), and are nocturnal.

I have a big female that roams the outside of my home, and she almost always has prey in her mouth. Worth their weight in gold, for their pest-control abilities!

Not enough detail in the image for me to conclude that it couldn't also be something in the family Pisauridae. Both Pisauridae and Sparassidae (the family to which Heteropoda venatoria belongs) occur in Florida. This will probably remain unresolved.

I hate to disagree, but I think JSI was right about Heteropoda venatoria... the 2nd pair of legs is longer than the first and it also has a tiny abdomen like most of the male H. venatoria do. (Has laterigrade leg orientation, too.)
