    14th floor downtown...What is it?

    http://imgur.com/delete/aOk3vtRhfVafznZ

Topeka, KS Inside--14th floor of an office building. 5 pm
Somewhat agressive. All black slightly fuzzy.
Tri-angular'ish' white spot above pair of larger round protrubant eyes or shiney spots on rear.
Umm that might have been the front.
Stood very 'high' on compactly located legs.
2 main oval body parts slope down to the end with the triangle.
Moved real fast and jumps. (now a little smashed in photo).
Scale is 'located on a standard business card'.
    Best pic I could get.
    is this venomous?

It's a harmless Jumping Spider. They are venomous (as all but one genus of spiders are), but not dangerously so. They are curious and have very good eyesight, so they may get defensive or try to check you out more. I can't tell you the species, however.

Looks to be a little jumping spider! As MyssArachnomancer said, totally harmless. Their movements may seem to be defensive but mostly they are just curious. They do move funny--jumpy sort of movements, but they aren't really aggressive. I have them jump on my hands all the time and haven't been bitten once. Just don't squeeze them.

    Cool

Thanks all! I had brought in a pair of boots from outside the building (new purchase) which may have had a inhabitant from far off lands... I had never previously seen local spiders that mobile or fast.

...harmless Jumping Spider....curious....very good eyesight, ...get defensive or try to check you out more.
It SURE did all of that! S/he was fast mobile and did in fact jump handily by bunching its legs and bounding to amazing heights...in both vertical and horizontal leaps... It had reason to be defensive- once I observed its mobility there is no way I was going to try to set it free outside incase it was not an indiginous specie. It was quite a chase! ...

venomous (as all but one genus of spiders are), but not dangerously so.
OK I am a spider newbie but I learned something today - again thanks!
