    please identify spider -Olympia, WA

ID:	2088this spider was found in Olympia, WA on July 12, 2012. It was in a shrub. They found an egg sac on the underside of a deck plank. Thanks!

    Hi, Rubyslippers:

    The spider in the image is a crab spider, family Thomisidae, *maybe* in the genus Xysticus. They are ambush hunters, lying in wait for a potential meal to come within striking distance. They are *not* dangerously venomous to people or pets.
