Wow, I'm online here a lot...
I just realized I've spent like 3 hours on these forums today attempting novice ID"s of spiders. What fun!
I guess I've found my new home. Here!

Hey Shellie,
Thanks a lot for reporting the spam. I really appreciate the help. In case you didn't notice, I don't spend a lot of time talking about spiders and insects, I primarily do the technical work for this website. Glad to have you as a member of our community

Ahh! No problem! It's a pretty common type of spam targeted specifically at forums--a snake forum I frequent gets the same kind. It's posted by people from China that probably don't speak very good English, and Chinese is hard to translate to English anyway as several of their words have no English translation or have multiple possibilities that come out as poor grammar. They're probably paid to post and try to sell products or get clicks on a website link. *rolling eyes* Gotta love the spam! Anyway, glad I could help a little, and I'll keep reporting anymore I find and being active on the site as well.
So, you do the technical work--awesome! Is it similar to web design kind of stuff at all? My fiance is taking web design in college, he's learning some java script stuff and Xhtml/html and all kinds of fascinating things. I never knew how much work goes into making a text box appear on a website! Wow!

Glad to have ya, Shellie! Sounds like you've definitely caught the spider "bug!" Spending the time like that is the best way to get familiar with the huge variety of spiders out there - you'll be a pro soon enough!

Yep, I've caught the bug and I have no desire to get rid of it any time soon!
Spiders are a fascinating little world of creatures. I can't believe I missed the opportunity to learn about them for so long!
