I had to clearify and light the image to see what it is ... it don't looks like a Loxosceles spider to me ... but let see what the experts say ...
PS. Please bury the poor spider, even if it's a Recluse. :3
Spiders ... Spiders everywhere!
Welcome to the forum, cari. Unfortunately, the photo is dark and lacks sufficient resolution for me to tell much about this spider. I don't think it's a recluse, but I just can't say for sure yet.
Where in North Carolina do you live? (Normally, the state would be sufficient, but brown recluse spiders are only found in the westernmost tip of your state.) If you don't live in the red zone, it is highly unlikely that you will find a brown recluse.

I live in Wilmington, NC which is towards the east coastline.
This looks like one of the "hacklemesh weavers" in the family Amaurobiidae, but I can't be completely positive based on the tiny images included here.
