Need help identifying a spider

05/12/12 Found this spider a couple of hours ago in southeast Iowa. It was on the wall in the basement. I'm trying to identify it, any help would be appreciated.

Hi Checkme82,

Apologies for the late reply. Your spider appears to be a "longlegged sac spider" in the genus Cheiracanthium. One species is common in homes and can be found prowling the walls and ceiling for bugs to eat at night. They're not considered dangerously venomous.
