Yea so today, sitting at my desk, this little bugger crawled across my arm... scared the living daylights outta me.
If you can help me identify it, it'll be great.
I'm located in Redwood City CA

    Thanks

    Hi, Bryan:

This should have been posted in the Spider and Arachnid Identification forum, but I'll provide the answer anyway :-)

Looks like a male long-legged sac spider in the genus Cheiracanthium (family Miturgidae). The introduced European species Cheiracanthium mildei is actually found indoors more often than outdoors, so I suspect that is your spider. We will have a species guide page on this one going up soon, so stay tuned.

Hope this helps! Oh, and look for their little silken "sleeping bags" where the walls meet the ceiling. The spiders rest there by day and prowl mostly at night.

    Eric
