Making sure this is actually a black widow. The red spots going down the back with red hourglass underneath. I thought black widows were all black with a single hour glass. Just wondering the specific genus species of this one?

That’s weird. It’s not one I know from memory. The markings are correct for a Black Widow, they have a red line down the back with some white around it. The legs are odd, with an extra layer of something on them, proximal, that ends distally. Did you see it move? I’m trying to rule out a stray Halloween decoration or someone pranking you with that question. If you have more photos they can be uploaded individually as new submissions.
