I think this is a cellar spider…perhaps this one in the genus Physocyclus
Cellar spiders are amazing spiders. They look so delicate but can tackle bigger stronger prey with ease.

Usually cellar spiders are found in webs. But as the bio states, it was not found in a web. hope this helps 🙂
Due to the violin shape on its thorax, my best guess is a Loxosceles Reclusa, AKA the Brown Recluse. This spider is highly venomous. If bitten, it is advised to seek immediate medical attention. If I am wrong, please let me know. I hope this helps 🙂
I sure hope its not Loxosceles because I have them all over my house – sometimes in webs, sometimes not. See also photo below of the same species in my house trapping a scorpion in its web…They also don’t seem to mind lighted areas so I’m going with Cellar species unless I hear otherwise.
Worry not. This is definitely a cellar spider. Some genera of cellar spiders have very well defined “violin” marks. Your spider has long thin banded legs and a very patterned abdomen. Recluse spiders in the US have neither.
