We've had this spider living in a corner of our kitchen for months. We throw it flies when we can catch them, and it seems to be content. When it wasn't visible for a few days, I took down it's web, only to find it returned, days later, with a new web constructed. Seems to like the warm humid spot next to the light above our sink.
