Comments & ID Thoughts
Hello, my coworker took a photo of a spider. We are wondering what it is. I think it is a crab spider, but I've never seen a pinkish purple crab spider before. It about the right size for a crab spider, guessing the body length is about 7-8mm, and guessing it is 20mm across, tip of leg to tip of leg if it was sprawled out. It's forelegs and abdomen look like other crab spiders I've seen. In the photo, the spider is on one of her kitchen cabinets.
Thank you.

Sorry, my mistake. The spider is outside on an electrical box.
This is thomisus onustus, a pink crab spider. It is not native to the US: https://spiderid.com/spider/thomisidae/thomisus/onustus/
Also… you sure your coworker actually took that photo? Because: https://x.com/larkinwilder/status/1756123784531062989?s=46&t=Pt4FPwpf_WLeKsCxHpPiyg
hahaha. She did not take the photo. Caught her in a lie.
