Comments & ID Thoughts

A lot of this type of spider has been running around my basement. Thought they were wolf spiders as I had never seen them in a web and they are always on the move. But they've begun venturing upstairs now and I've been finding them in blankets or in pet beds. I didn't care about them too much when they were in my basement but now that they are coming upstairs for the first time in 3 years, I'm curious. When I look up pictures of wolf spiders they always have a darker brown stripe on their abdomen but these spiders have a light brown stripe which makes me think they aren't wolf spiders. There was also one about twice the size but looked the same otherwise, I'm guessing the big one was female and the rest have been male but unsure.

Not absolutely certain, but looks like a common house spider. Lots of spiders indicates a lot of insects to feed them. They are cannibalistic, and with no food will eventually eat each other.
