Comments & ID Thoughts
I was going out to grab something from my truck. This BIG spider caught my eye. I’ve never seen one like this on my property. I’ve had wolf spiders, grass spiders, one black widow, many many house spiders, crab spiders, some very friendly and playful garden spiders, more orb-weavers than I can count...this one is new to me. It’s large. Big enough to make a rustling noise when it scuttled away through the leaves in the garden.
It’s my understanding that the only “dangerous “ spiders that, generally, show up in Alabama are brown recluses and black widows. This seems, to me, clearly not either of those. I let it go on it’s own merry way. But I’m curious about its breed. I hope you can help me identify it.
